Speedland RX:FPY
Shoes have 76.7 miles on them - ranging from recovery to steady zone 2 runs. Only about 40 of those miles were run with the high cushion, thick drop in in-sole (explained below) and probably about 12 total miles run with the carbon plate inserted.
Reviews suggest that with the uncompressed HTPU midsole, these can go for up to 500+ miles. Not sure if that's the case, but I haven't noticed any degradation or outsole wear.
Looking to sell for $85 shipped, plate included.
Reason for selling:
I bought these intending to use for longer, easy runs and as protective shoes for recovery days. Given some injuries, I have not been as able to go for long runs, but have still used them for easy/recovery work as I focus more on PT.
The biggest reason for wanting to sell is that I have very high insteps. I discovered these shoes fit my feet much better when I use regular, thin insoles (e.g. from New Balance Rebel) rather than the ~25mm thick, plush insoles these come with. The BOA system put too much pressure on my tall midfoot with that much volume in the shoe taken up by the insole.
The uncompressed HTPU midsole foam is the firmer of the two by far, providing a nice stable, rolling ride, but not a plush experience like I was looking for in seeking a recovery-focused shoe without the drop-in thick insole.
For comparison, I bought a pair of Mizuno Neo Vista II. Unlike most reviews I've seen, I find the fit on those to be foot-hugging with my high instep. If I can sell the Speedlands, I'll keep the Mizunos. If not, I'll keep these more for long, steady state runs where that resilient, bouncy, stable base lets me lock in and tick off miles.
