Do You Miss Running? GlideCycle X-Runner - Run With Far Less Impact
If you used to love running but your knees, hips, feet, back, or other joint issues have made normal running difficult, this may be worth a look.
I’m selling a GlideCycle X-Runner, a very unusual outdoor running trainer designed to let you walk or run while supporting much of your body weight.
Unlike an exercise bike or elliptical, your feet are still contacting the ground and you’re actually moving outdoors in a walking/running motion - but the GlideCycle’s suspension system takes a significant amount of your body weight off your legs and joints.
It can be especially interesting for:
• longtime runners who can’t tolerate the pounding they used to
• older runners who still want to run outdoors
• runners dealing with knee, hip, foot, ankle, or back limitations
• people returning to running after an injury
• low-impact cardiovascular training
• cross-training and recovery days
The amount of support is adjustable, and the manufacturer says the GlideCycle can unload up to approximately 90% of the user’s body weight, depending on setup.
There’s also published research comparing GlideCycle running with conventional running that found substantially reduced ground-reaction forces.
Brand-new X-Runner - still in the box: $1,450 OBO
The manufacturer currently lists the X-Runner at $1,949.
I also have two additional GlideCycles that were used only briefly as demonstration models about 20 years ago. One is a Glidesdale, which is designed to accommodate heavier users.
Glidesdale: $1,750 OBO
You can see photos, videos, specifications, and people actually using the GlideCycle at:
the glidecycle website or search for glidecycle on youtube.
I’m located in Northern California.
Local pickup is welcome, or I can ship anywhere in the U.S. at the actual shipping cost.
If you’re interested, message me and I can send additional photos, videos, details on the specific units available, or help determine which model might be the best fit.
If running used to be a big part of your life and your body no longer tolerates the impact, take a look at the videos before dismissing this. It’s much easier to understand once you see someone actually running on one.
Note that the pictures with the timestamp are of the two used ones I have one has a carrying case the other does not. I don't have a timestamp pic of the new one because it's in storage in a box never used. happy to get a timestamp of that one if you're interested, or even do a video call with you so you can see in realtime. I have used these so if you have questions. ask away. I did not see in the rules if it was ok to put contact info on here. hoping that is ok. here is my cell 916.990.2020 I won't answer calls, but if you text I will call you back.
